Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant with a minimum of two years’ experience to join our vibrant culinary team. In this vital role, you will support the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring all kitchen areas meet the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create an efficient environment where culinary excellence can flourish. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic hospitality setting, contributing to memorable guest experiences every day.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, utensils, and equipment, adhering to strict hygiene standards
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients under supervision
Support chefs and kitchen staff in organizing supplies and stock management to ensure smooth workflow
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware efficiently while following health and safety protocols
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
Help with setting up and breaking down service stations before and after shifts
Follow health & safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment

Skills

Proven experience as a Kitchen Porter or Kitchen Assistant for at least two years in a busy restaurant or hotel environment
Strong knowledge of food hygiene standards and safety regulations
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in cleaning and food prep tasks
Good communication skills to work effectively within a team of culinary professionals
Familiarity with basic cooking techniques and food preparation processes
Passion for hospitality, serving guests with professionalism and enthusiasm
