Are you patient, understanding and prepared to support and care for vulnerable children affected by trauma and complex needs? You can make a genuine difference to a child’s life in providing positive experiences and acting as a role model to the future generations…

Our team is passionate about supporting children's individual hobbies, needs, and skills whilst making meaningful memories. We are looking to recruit dynamic, innovative, caring, and experienced Children's Support Workers to join our growing team on a full-time or part-time basis.

Fernleigh House is a unique 3-bedroom children's home in Gunnislake on the Cornwall/Devon borders, supporting children with learning disabilities and complex needs. We are dedicated to making them feel safe, not just in their homes but also in the surrounding areas.

We are seeking good role models for our young people who have a calm and compassionate demeanour, are physically fit and active to keep up with scooting, swimming and all the things teenage boys like to do.

Our team hold the boys in the highest of regard and love what they do, if you think you could fit into their lives please get in touch.

We offer Children’s Support Workers £14.00 per hour and £60 for sleep-ins

Other benefits we offer include:

Additional shifts may be available at our nearby home supporting a complex young person, paid at an enhanced rate of £14.85 per hour

As a Children's Support Worker you will be responsible for:

Acting as a corporate parent to care for, support and meet the needs of thechildren
Cooking, cleaning, assisting with homework and participating in activities
Safeguarding and promoting welfare of children
To ensure all paperwork is completed to a high standard
Supporting Children and young people with appointments/health checks

The successful candidate will have:

At least 1 year experience working with Children
Full UK driving licence
NVQ Level 3 in residential childcare (or equivalent)
