Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Garden & Landscape Labourer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with various landscaping and horticultural tasks, ensuring the maintenance and enhancement of outdoor spaces. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, contributing to the creation and upkeep of beautiful landscapes. Prior experience in landscape maintenance or gardening is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. A keen interest in horticulture and outdoor work is essential.

Responsibilities

Assisting with landscape maintenance, including mowing, pruning, planting, and weed control
Operating hand tools such as spades, rakes, and secateurs to carry out gardening tasks
Supporting the use of power tools and machinery including hedge trimmers, blowers, and lawnmowers
Assisting with the operation of heavy machinery such as excavators for larger landscaping projects
Installing and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure efficient water distribution
Performing general site maintenance to keep work areas safe and tidy
Supporting construction activities related to landscape projects as required
Collaborating with team members to complete projects efficiently and to high standards

Skills

Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is preferred
Mechanical knowledge related to garden machinery and power tools
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators (training provided if necessary)
Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and maintenance
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in maintenance tasks
Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual labour outdoors for extended periods
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions
