Job Overview

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Post Office Assistant and Shop Assistant to join our busy team at a local Vivo retail store near Cookstown. You will help customers at the shop till and provide important Post Office services. You will also keep the shop clean, tidy, and fully stocked.This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional customer service while managing postal services and retail operations. You will be the friendly face of our community hub, ensuring smooth postal transactions, assisting customers with their shopping needs, and maintaining an organized, welcoming environment. This paid position is perfect for motivated individuals eager to develop their communication and organizational skills in a fast-paced setting. Duties

Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service at the counter for postal and retail transactions
Process mail and parcels efficiently, including sending, receiving, and tracking shipments
Assist customers with purchasing products, restocking shelves, and managing inventory
Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about postal services and shop products
Support upselling efforts by recommending additional products or services to customers
Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure the shop area is inviting and well-stocked
Manage time effectively to handle multiple tasks during busy periods while maintaining accuracy in all transactions

Skills

Strong communication skills to interact clearly with customers and team members
Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating postage or prices
Excellent organizational skills to keep the shop tidy and manage stock levels
Effective time management to prioritize tasks during peak hours
Phone etiquette skills for professional customer interactions over the phone
Knowledge of merchandising techniques to display products attractively and increase sales

Key Responsibilities

Post Office Duties:
Serve customers at the Post Office counter.
Process mail, parcels, bill payments, and banking services.
Handle cash and card transactions accurately.
Shop Assistant Duties:
Operate the till and scan shopping items.
Stock shelves and rotate products.
Keep the shop floor clean and safe.
Help customers find items and answer questions with a smile.

What We Are Looking For

Friendly and helpful customer service skills.
Good basic math and computer skills.
Ability to work well in a busy team.
Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
Previous retail or Post Office experience is an advantage, but full training will be provided.

Must be over 18 years old.

Available to work Monday to Sunday.
