Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our caring team within a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for senior care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of elderly residents by providing high-quality personalised care and support. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital role in supervising junior staff, developing care plans, and ensuring the well-being and dignity of all residents.

Responsibilities

Deliver personalised care to elderly residents in accordance with their individual care plans
Supervise and support care staff, promoting best practices and maintaining high standards of care
Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and medication management
Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
Lead on the development and review of personalised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare teams
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including records of medication administration and incident reports
Foster a warm, respectful environment that promotes independence and dignity for all residents
Support the organisation of activities that enhance residents’ quality of life

Qualifications

Previous experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care is essential
Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to implement individualised care strategies
Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate resident outings or staff mobility needs
Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
A caring attitude with patience, empathy, and professionalism at all times
