About us
Cosgrove & Cosgrove is a growing bookkeeping business based in Telford, supporting clients across the UK and USA in a specialist niche sector.

We’re a friendly team of seven and pride ourselves on being organised, reliable and supportive. We’re now looking for an Accounts Assistant to join us and help keep our clients’ finances running smoothly.

The role
This is a hands-on role focused on day-to-day bookkeeping, data processing and supporting weekly client deadlines.

What you’ll be doing

Processing supplier invoices through Dext and QuickBooks
Raising sales invoices in QuickBooks
Completing bank reconciliations for both UK and US accounts
Processing credit card receipts and reconciling against statements
Processing and reconciling expense claims
Data entry and general data processing
Inputting payroll journals and payroll information into QuickBooks
Checking transactions for correct categorisation and VAT treatment
Supporting weekly reporting processes

What we’re looking for

Strong experience with QuickBooks
Good understanding of bank reconciliations
Solid VAT knowledge
High attention to detail and accuracy
Able to manage workload and meet regular deadlines
Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude

Nice to have (but not essential)

Experience with Dext
Experience working with US-based clients

Other requirements

Own transport is needed as our location is not directly served by public transport

Ability to commute/relocate:

Telford TF1 7UL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Do you have experience processing payroll journals or payroll information into accounting software?
What level are your Excel skills? Basic / Intermediate / Good working knowledge
Briefly describe your experience using QuickBooks and bookkeeping software in previous roles.

Experience:

using Quickbooks: 1 year (required)
completing bank reconciliations independently: 1 year (required)
