Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. As a vital part of our kitchen management, the Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily operations, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and supporting the development of junior kitchen staff. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career progression within a reputable hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and production.
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food quality and presentation.
Oversee food safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health and hygiene regulations at all times.
Coordinate food orders, stock control, and inventory management to maintain efficient kitchen workflow.
Support menu development and contribute creative ideas for new dishes.
Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards in accordance with company recipes and specifications.
Manage kitchen schedules, organise shifts, and allocate tasks effectively among team members.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment to meet health standards.
Assist with serving customers when required, providing excellent hospitality experiences.

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment.
Extensive food production knowledge with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques.
Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff members.
In-depth understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
Experience working in restaurants or hospitality settings with a focus on delivering exceptional service.
Strong leadership qualities combined with excellent organisational skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with front-of-house teams and suppliers.

Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
