Full job description

Hours: Monday - Thursday 07:00-16:00 and Friday 07:00-11:00am (38hpw).

There may be a requirement in the future to work rotating shifts.

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. The quality of our welded components is one of the key features of all our products. We manufacture and weld components ranging in thickness between 2mm and 15mm using Mig welding techniques.

This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager via the Welding Shop Team leaders. Welders are responsible for the welding of steel components using Mig welding process.

As a Welder, you will be responsible for assembling metal components to meet precise specifications. Your expertise in using power tools and hand tools, along with your ability to perform basic maths, will be essential in ensuring high-quality production standards.

Responsibilities

Operate welding equipment to join metal parts according to specifications.
Use power tools and hand tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing metal pieces.
Read and interpret technical drawings to determine build requirements.
Perform quality checks on welds to ensure compliance with safety standards and specifications.
Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools are properly stored after use.
Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Mig Welder or in a similar role within the manufacturing or construction industry.
Strong welding knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Proficiency in using various power tools and hand tools relevant to welding tasks.
Experience in working in a fast paced environment.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
