Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef by overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and leading the kitchen team with professionalism and enthusiasm. Duties

Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and presentation
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of service
Oversee food production, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to recipes and specifications
Lead food preparation activities, including cooking, plating, and garnishing dishes to meet quality standards
Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
Train new staff members on kitchen procedures, safety protocols, and customer service expectations
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery during busy periods
Monitor kitchen cleanliness and organisation to uphold a safe working environment

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Strong background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively
Extensive kitchen experience across various cuisines and hospitality settings
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
