Job Description

Job Title: Registered Manager

Accountable to: Director and Care Quality Commission

Hours per Week: 42 hours per week. Monday-Friday

Permanent: Full Time

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced, highly qualified and motivated Registered Manager who possesses a strong working knowledge of Health and Social Care Act 2014, and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission to oversee the operations of our care agency. As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a positive and supportive work environment for staff members. Your leadership and management skills will be vital in achieving our goal of providing exceptional care services to our patients. The Registered Manager is directly accountable to the Director and to the Care Quality Commission

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Leadership and management
Provide strong leadership to the care team, promoting a positive and empowering work environment.
Oversee the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of care staff, ensuring high levels of competence and professionalism.
Efficiently manage the day-to-day delivery of the domiciliary care service
Effectively communicate information and instructions to staff and patients.
Implement the company policies in relation to absence, disciplinary and grievance matters.
Ensuring all emergency on-call issues are dealt with effectively.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that care services meet regulatory standards, quality benchmarks and the expectations of clients and their families.
Responsible for the safe delivery and accurate recording of care in line with legislation, the CQC, and our company policies
Manage and update company policies in collaboration with senior management.
Lead on infection control
Manage and co-ordinate staff quality assurance.
Understand and monitor health and safety in the workplace.
Keep up to date with best practice in health and social care and apply this knowledge to your work.
Conduct regular internal audits and assessments to maintain and improve service quality.

Patient-Centred care:
Work closely with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to assess needs and develop personalised care plans.
Promote the interest of our patients and provide a person-centred service.
Provide clear information to all our patients and their representatives about our service.
Communicate effectively with patients, their families and representatives, staff and other health and social care professionals to deliver the best possible care.
Maintain confidentiality for patients, their families and employees.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care-plans, making adjustment as necessary to ensure patients receive the best possible care.

4 Compliance and Regulation:

Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and standards, including those set forth by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) or other regulatory bodies.
Keep abreast of changes in regulations and update agency policies and procedures accordingly.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

To work in a safe manner at all times maintaining your own and others safety.
Identify potential risks and implement measures to mitigate them ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and staff
Handle compliants, incidents, and safeguarding issues in a timely and effiecient manner

Experience, skills and Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in nursing
Registered Nurse
Effective Communication skills. Experience of building positive working relationships with patients, their families, staff and other health and social care professionals
Experienced user of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange and the internet
Administrative skills and Computer literacy with strong focus on attention to details and accuracy
Experience of managing and developing an effective staff team including recruitment, training, supporting and supervising staff.

Desirable

Previous experience as a Registered Manager
Train the Trainer qualification

Miscellaneous:

To carry out any other duties as reasonably required by a supervisor or a manager.
