Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the hospitality industry and develop a range of culinary and service skills. Prior experience is not essential, but a keen interest in food preparation and hospitality is desirable. The role is fully paid and suitable for individuals eager to work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including cleaning vegetables and organising ingredients
Support chefs with kitchen organisation, ensuring all equipment and utensils are clean and stored correctly
Maintain high standards of cleanliness by washing dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools promptly
Help with waste disposal and recycling processes to uphold hygiene standards
Ensure the kitchen area is kept tidy and organised throughout the shift
Support serving staff during busy periods by clearing tables and assisting with basic customer service tasks as needed
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment

Experience
While previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary setting is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Candidates with an interest in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality are encouraged to apply. Skills that would benefit applicants include:
