Full job description

We are a busy and well-established black taxi repairs and rental garage based in London, providing expert vehicle maintenance and reliable taxi hire services to a large and loyal customer base. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service and maintaining strong relationships with our drivers and clients.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a professional, well-spoken, and highly organised Receptionist to join our dynamic office team. This role is central to the day-to-day operations of the business and involves both customer-facing and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be confident, polite, and capable of handling a fast-paced environment—often dealing with demanding or impatient clients in a calm and respectful manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect and record rent payments from drivers in a timely and accurate manner
Chase late payments and maintain clear communication with drivers regarding rental terms
Schedule and coordinate MOTs, vehicle overhauls, and other maintenance appointments
Answer incoming calls and respond to general enquiries professionally
Greet visitors and drivers, ensuring a welcoming and organised front-of-house experience
Maintain up-to-date records and logs using basic office software
Support the wider office team with general administrative tasks as required

Requirements:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Polite, professional, and calm under pressure
Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role preferred
Confident using Microsoft Office and other basic computer systems
Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy work environment
Experience in the automotive or taxi industry is an advantage but not essential

Working Hours:
Full-time hours, Monday to Friday (exact hours to be discussed)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Zero hours contract

Pay: £80.00-£100.00 per day

Ability to commute/relocate:

London, Greater London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
