MW Yorkshire Landscaping is a growing family-run landscaping and renovation business based near Richmond, North Yorkshire. Established two years ago, we specialise in creating high-quality outdoor spaces and carrying out interior renovation work.
Our projects cover a broad range of work including patios and paving, fencing, stonework, dry stone walling, brickwork, groundworks, turfing, decking, drainage, interior board work and joinery.
We pride ourselves on delivering a high standard of workmanship while working closely with our customers to achieve the best possible result within their requirements and budget.
As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Landscape Builder to join our small and developing team.
The Role
This is a full-time position, initially offered on a self-employed basis, with the potential to move into permanent employment following a successful probationary period.
The successful candidate will work across a varied range of landscaping and renovation projects. You will have the opportunity to work alongside the existing team as well as take responsibility for projects and work independently where appropriate.
We are not expecting one person to be an expert in every aspect of landscaping or building. If you have strong experience in particular areas and are keen to learn and develop your skills in others, we would be interested in hearing from you.

The Person We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in relevant professional landscaping or building work – minimum 1 year's industry experience
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Honest and trustworthy
- Proud of the quality of their workmanship
- Meticulous, with a strong eye for detail
- Keen to learn and develop
- Able to work independently when required
- Comfortable working as part of a small team
- Professional, friendly and approachable with customers
- Confident communicating with homeowners and discussing work
- Capable of representing the company professionally on customers' properties
- Respectful of customers' homes, gardens and property
- Interested in developing a long-term career with a growing business
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 1 year's relevant professional landscaping or building experience
- Experience with stonework and/or dry stone walling
- Experience with brickwork, blockwork and retaining walls
- Full UK driving licence
- Own reliable vehicle – car or van
- Good references
- Ability to provide examples/photos of previous work
- Professional and confident approach to customer interaction
Trailer towing experience is preferable but not essential.
Experience operating plant and machinery is welcomed but is not essential.
This Is Not a Trainee Position
Please note that this role is intended for someone who already has genuine professional experience within landscaping, building or a related trade.
We are happy to train and develop the right person in areas where they have less experience, but we are not looking for a general labourer or someone looking to enter the construction or landscaping industry for the first time.
Location & Travel
The business is based near Richmond, North Yorkshire, with work generally within a 30-minute travel time.
Applicants should therefore be comfortable travelling to different customer sites within this area and have reliable transport.
Pay & Hours
Full-time position
From £16 per hour initially, depending on experience and skill level.
We are flexible on the hourly rate for the right candidate, and applicants with stronger experience and a broader range of skills may be considered for a higher starting rate.
The role will initially be offered on a self-employed basis, with consideration given to permanent employment following a successful probationary period.
There is genuine potential for long-term work, progression and increased responsibility as the business continues to grow.
