About the role

Job Title: Business Support Coordinator

Location: Sheffield

Balfour Beatty is looking for a highly organised Business Support Coordinator to join our Plant & Fleet team within our Service Centre of Excellence.

In this key support role, you'll help ensure the smooth and efficient coordination of plant, equipment and operational support services across projects throughout the UK. Acting as a central point of contact for internal customers, suppliers and operational teams, you'll manage requests, coordinate resources, resolve issues and provide excellent customer service while helping the business meet its operational commitments.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate requests for plant, equipment and support services from operational and project teams across the business.
Process hire, off-hire and service requests using internal systems and supplier networks.
Manage and monitor breakdowns, ensuring issues are logged, tracked and resolved within agreed service levels.
Raise and manage purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
Resolve invoice and order queries, escalating issues where appropriate.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Support the effective utilisation of business resources through proactive communication and coordination.
Maintain accurate records, reports and administrative documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance customer service delivery.
Provide day-to-day administrative support to the wider team as required.

Who we're looking for

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a business support, coordinator, customer service, administration or procurement role.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
A customer-focused approach with the ability to build effective working relationships.
Experience processing orders, purchase orders or service requests would be advantageous.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
Knowledge of plant hire, fleet, logistics or construction environments would be beneficial but is not essential.
