Full job description

Job description:

If U Care Share Foundation (IUCSF) are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Part Time Support Coordinator who will be part of a team offering support to individuals and families bereaved by suicide or at risk of suicide

Location - Based in Chester le Street but may require travel across the North East region and throughout the UK

Hours - TBC at interview

Job Expectations:

Taking calls into the office telephone line and responding to general enquiries from the public and supported persons
Taking Suicide bereavement / Suicide prevention new referrals via telephone and email
Contact new referrals (individuals bereaved or at risk of suicide) to offer and arrange support with the service via telephone and email
Offer practical and emotional support to people struggling or at risk of suicide over the telephone and email
Escalate Cause for Concern and or Safeguarding protocol if concerned for the safety or the wellbeing of supported persons
Engage with local support services, including mental health teams, crisis teams, GP surgeries, adult or children social care teams etc. and making referrals where required / appropriate
All administration and coordination of Support Officer diaries
All administration and coordination of follow up tasks in relation to supported persons
Administration and coordination of therapies (Trauma Therapy, Counselling and alternative therapies etc.) and therapists diaries
Monitor and update Supported person files
Greet supported persons / visitors to the office
Attend meetings and training as advised

Essential Criteria:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Highly organised, with admirable attention to detail

· I.T. literate, with a firm understanding of MS Office

· Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent.

· Knowledge of the prevalence of suicide in society.

· Up-to-date DBS check.

· Right to work in the UK

Desirable Criteria

· Completion of mental health training.

· Experience and knowledge of working within mental health.

· Experience of the effects of suicide.

Job Types: Fixed term contract, Temp to perm

Contract length: 12 months with potential to extend
