Full job description

As a Cold Store Operative working in our Despatch department at Wyke Farms, you will be working as part of our team who manage our outgoing products to customers across the world, ensuring correct preparation of items for transport in a timely manner to meet our delivery deadlines.

We are looking for a reliable and hard-working individual, who works well with others, to come and join our team.

The preferred candidate will ideally have previous manufacturing and/or production experience and be flexible with their work availability.

You will need previous experience on a forklift truck, as well as a current licence/certification.

You will be required to work a 3-shift rotation (earlies, lates and evenings) between Monday – Friday (early finish on Fridays).

In addition to your basic pay, you will also be eligible to receive a weekly shift bonus (£20/week) and evening hours bonus (£75/week) for each complete shift worked, as well as the potential of a skilled operator bonus (£30/week).

Duties and Requirements:

Loading lorries and completing despatch documentation.
Wrapping full pallets of product using automated pallet wrapping machine.
Preparing various sales orders for despatch.
Supplying pallet bases into and clearing completed pallets of finished product from production lines in a timely fashion to ensure smooth running of production department.
Stock-taking and stock rotation duties.
Would be an advantage if used hand scanners before but full training will be provided
Basic computer skills would be an advantage but full training on our systems will be given.
Good communication skills will be a necessity to be able to easily communicate with other departments, planning team and management.
