McDougall Holiday Rentals – Kirkcaldy / Fife
£14.00 per hour
25 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 9.30am–2.30pm

We are looking for a reliable and practical person to join our small holiday letting business as a Holiday Lettings & Property Assistant.

This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day running of our holiday rental properties across Fife. A significant part of the job will involve processing the laundry used within our properties, but the role is deliberately broader than a standard laundry or housekeeping position.

When laundry requirements are quieter, you will spend time visiting properties, carrying out checks, identifying maintenance or replacement items and helping us keep each property properly equipped and maintained.

The working hours are 9.30am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday, making the position particularly suitable for someone looking for regular weekday hours which fit around school times or other commitments.

Main responsibilities

The role will include:

Washing, drying, ironing, folding and preparing bed linen, towels and other laundry used within our holiday properties
Operating commercial laundry equipment
Organising and preparing clean linen ready for property changeovers
Visiting holiday rental properties across Fife
Carrying out routine checks on properties and their contents
Checking crockery, cutlery, kitchen equipment and other household items
Identifying anything which needs to be replaced, replenished or repaired
Spotting maintenance issues and reporting these clearly
Taking photographs of maintenance problems or planned works
Updating our maintenance and planned works records
Helping us keep an accurate record of work required at each property
Carrying out other practical tasks connected with the running of the holiday letting business when required

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

Reliable and dependable
Organised and able to manage their own workload
Comfortable working independently
Practical and able to notice when something does not look quite right
Confident using a smartphone or tablet to take photographs and update records
Able to communicate clearly about maintenance or property issues
Happy working in a small business where the workload can vary from day to day
Comfortable travelling between properties when required

Previous experience in commercial laundry, housekeeping, property maintenance, holiday letting or a similar role would be useful, but it is not essential. Reliability, common sense and attention to detail are equally important to us.

Driving

A full UK driving licence is essential, as the role will involve travelling between our properties and driving a company vehicle when required.

Applicants must also meet the eligibility requirements of our company vehicle insurer.

Hours and pay

Hours: 25 hours per week
Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 9.30am–2.30pm
Pay: £14.00 per hour
Location: Based in Kirkcaldy, with travel to properties throughout Fife

This is a permanent part-time position within a small, growing holiday letting business and would suit someone who enjoys a practical, varied role rather than sitting behind a desk or doing the same task every day.
