Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team, responsible for enhancing the aesthetic appeal and protection of various interior and exterior surfaces. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently within a construction environment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to diverse projects, from residential refurbishments to commercial developments, ensuring high standards of quality and safety are maintained throughout.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion of paints and finishes.
Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other decorative coatings with precision and care.
Interpret technical drawings and specifications to achieve desired design outcomes.
Use a variety of tools and equipment such as brushes, rollers, spray guns, and scaffolding safely and effectively.
Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other tradespeople to meet project deadlines and specifications.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are stored correctly after use.
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to minimise risks on site.

Skills

Proven experience in construction painting and decorating with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
Valid driving licence preferred for transportation between sites.
Excellent communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
Strong attention to detail with an organised approach to work tasks.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Good physical stamina for working on ladders or scaffolding over extended periods.
Knowledge of health & safety procedures relevant to construction sites is essential.
