Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the food and hospitality industry, with potential pathways for career development. The role involves supporting chefs and kitchen staff by managing cleaning duties, assisting with basic food preparation, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Washing, cleaning, and sanitising all kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team
Ensuring the cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift
Supporting the organisation of stock and supplies within the kitchen
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with environmental policies
Maintaining a tidy work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Supporting serving staff during busy periods when required
Adhering to all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, or kitchen operations is desirable
Good organisational skills with an eye for detail
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, or public holidays if required
Strong commitment to cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards
Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills
