Full job description

Location: Goldhanger, Essex
Salary: £29,065 per annum + paid overtime
Hours: Part-time shift patterns (see below)
Own transport essential due to remote location

Key Requirements

· Previous manual handling experience is essential

· Comfortable with physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment

· Reliable team player with a positive, can-do attitude

· Flexible and willing to work overtime when required

· Own transport required due to no public transport access

· FLT licence highly advantageous

Due to increasing global demand and exciting growth plans, we are recruiting additional Salt Operatives to join our production team in Goldhanger, Essex.

The Role

This is a hands-on, physically active role suited to candidates who enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment. You will play an important part in maintaining product quality, operational efficiency, and health & safety standards across the site.

Key Responsibilities

· Operate and maintain equipment across primary and secondary production areas

· Carry out shift and weekly equipment checks

· Perform quality inspections to ensure salt meets specification standards

· Complete product quality and traceability documentation accurately

· Follow site quality systems and quality control procedures

· Escalate operational issues, non-compliance, or equipment failures when required

· Participate in first-line fault finding and problem-solving activities

· Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements

· Use hand pallet trucks and electric pallet trucks safely

· Carry out pan set-up, salt production/raking, pan emptying, drying/storage, and pan chipping

· Maintain effective communication with team members and management

· Follow all health & safety procedures and take reasonable care for yourself and others

About You

· Have previous manual handling experience

· Are keen to learn, develop, and grow within the business

· Can work flexibly and support overtime requirements when needed

A valid FLT licence would be beneficial but is not essential.

Working Hours & Shift Patterns Until 30 September 2026

6:30am – 12:30pm

From 1 October 2026 onwards

8:00am – 2:00pm

There are 3 positions available with overtime often available, on a voluntary basis, subject to availability. These are all:

Monday to Saturday (Friday & Sunday off)

Voluntary overtime is regularly available, subject to business needs.
