Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join Holmes Mill as a Sous Chef. This role involves overseeing food production operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The successful candidate will play a key part in maintaining the smooth running of our culinary services, contributing to an exceptional guest experience. Previous experience in food preparation, team management, and hospitality is essential, along with strong leadership skills. Responsibilities

Supervise daily food production activities, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards
Manage and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining consistency and presentation standards
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and hygiene practices
Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating innovative culinary ideas
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to prevent shortages
Provide training and mentorship to junior staff members to enhance their skills
Uphold the restaurant’s reputation by delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a food production or hospitality setting
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations
Leadership qualities with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Experience in restaurant or catering environments, with a focus on culinary excellence
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Passion for culinary arts and delivering exceptional guest experiences

Pay: Up to £37,000.00 per year
