Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Construction Labourer to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will assist with a variety of tasks on construction sites, helping to build, repair, and maintain structures efficiently and safely. Your hands-on skills and enthusiasm will contribute directly to the successful completion of projects, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your construction skills across multiple disciplines while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and cleanup of construction sites, including unloading materials and setting up equipment
Perform general labour tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and moving materials using hand tools and power tools
Follow schematics and blueprints to aid in the accurate assembly or installation of building components
Operate various hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision
Help with site safety procedures, including maintaining clean work areas and adhering to safety protocols
Support the installation of structural elements such as framing, masonry units, or roofing materials as directed

Requirements

Previous construction experience or a strong interest in building trades is preferred
Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and safety equipment
Familiarity with roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, masonry, plastering or carpentry is a plus
Ability to read schematics or technical drawings is advantageous
Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and perform manual labour for extended periods
Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards learning new skills
Valid safety certifications or willingness to obtain relevant training (such as OSHA) is preferred
