Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and professional Front of House Team Member to join our small hospitality team.
This role involves delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, getting to know regular customers and supporting the smooth operation of our establishment.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
This position offers an engaging work environment where you can develop your skills in customer service, food safety, and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a positive first impression.
Take orders accurately and efficiently, providing menu recommendations and upselling where appropriate.
Serve food and beverages in accordance with health and safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including tables, counters, and service stations.
Cleaning responsibilities at the end of each evening.
Handle guest enquiries courteously and resolve any issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
Process payments accurately using the point-of-sale system.
Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
Assist in setting up dining areas for service and closing down at the end of shifts
Promote specials and additional offerings to maximise sales opportunities.

Experience

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques is desirable.
Familiarity with serving procedures, guest services, and upselling strategies will be beneficial.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods.
Excellent communication skills with a friendly, approachable manner.
Ability to work well within a team and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
