Full job description

Job Title: Kitchen Assistant (Part-Time, Permanent) – Nursery Setting

Location: Lewisham, London
Job Type: Part-time, Permanent
Salary: £12.75 per hour

We are currently looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team at Young and Smart Nursery in Lewisham on a permanent basis.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

We are open to considering both year-round and term-time-only applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting with food preparation and meal service for children
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
Washing dishes and cleaning kitchen equipment
Supporting the cook and wider nursery team as needed
Ensuring compliance with health and safety and food hygiene standards

Requirements:

Previous experience in a nursery/school setting is preferred
Previous experience working in a nursery kitchen, school kitchen, or similar childcare environment is highly desirable
Basic knowledge of food preparation and hygiene practices
A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable (training can be provided)
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
Good communication skills
