Full job description

About the Role

For over 30 years, Beacon International has supplied specialist equipment, consumables, hire and servicing to customers throughout the asbestos removal industry.

We are now looking for a Sales Administrator to join our team in Thurrock.

This is much more than a traditional administration role. You will work closely with the Depot Manager and wider team, dealing directly with customers, processing orders and quotations, supporting sales activity and helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the depot.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is organised, communicates confidently with customers, and would like the opportunity to develop within a growing business.

For the right person, there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibility and progress into areas such as internal sales, account management or wider depot responsibilities.

What You'll Be Doing

Taking and processing customer orders by telephone and email
Dealing with customer enquiries in a friendly and professional manner
Preparing quotations and following up customer enquiries
Building strong relationships with existing customers
Identifying opportunities to offer additional products and services
Supporting the Depot Manager and wider sales team
Liaising with suppliers and maintaining good supplier relationships
Updating supplier pricing and product information
Maintaining accurate customer, quotation and order records
Providing general administrative support to the depot
Helping ensure customers receive a high level of service from initial enquiry through to delivery

What We're Looking For

You do not need experience within the asbestos industry, as full product training will be provided.

We are more interested in finding someone who is:

Confident and professional when speaking with customers
Friendly and approachable
Organised with excellent attention to detail
Computer literate and comfortable learning new systems
Self-motivated and able to manage their own workload
Able to work effectively as part of a team
Commercially minded with an interest in sales
Willing to learn and develop
Comfortable working in a busy environment

Previous experience in sales administration, internal sales, customer service, trade counter sales or a similar commercial role would be an advantage.

What We Offer

From £27,500 annual salary
Monday to Friday working – no weekends
8:00am–5:00pm working hours
1-hour lunch break
28 days holiday including Bank Holidays
