Role Summary

To support business performance and financial compliance, we are recruiting a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable professional to join our dedicated and collaborative team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Finance function by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payments, reconciliations, and expense management activities.

The role will involve:

Communicating with relevant suppliers to process invoicing or payment queries.
Attaching the correct documentation to invoices and reconciling purchase orders to invoices received.
Posting invoices and credit notes and ensuring they are coded correctly within the system.
Preparing monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
Dealing with external and internal queries via telephone and email.
Preparing and processing supplier payments.
Ensuring all accounts payable activities comply with relevant financial policies and procedures.
Investigating and resolving outstanding creditor items.
Supporting month-end finance processes and maintaining accurate financial records.
Building strong working relationships with suppliers and internal departments to support smooth financial operations.
You will be responsible for helping maintain effective financial controls while contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the Accounts Payable function within a fast-paced environment.
To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty to a high standard. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required.

Previous experience within an Accounts Payable, Finance Assistant, or similar finance role.
Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
Experience processing high volumes of invoices and supplier reconciliations.
Good understanding of financial controls and compliance procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
Ability to investigate and resolve invoice or payment queries efficiently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Experience using ERP or accounting systems would be advantageous.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
A proactive and flexible approach with the ability to adapt within a fast-paced business environment.
High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
Ideally AAT qualified or working towards a finance/accounting qualification, although this is not essential depending on experience.
