Full job description

Receptionist

One Hatfield Hospital, part of Phoenix Hospital Group, are seeking a dedicated and friendly Receptionist to join our Front of House team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing essential administrative support and ensuring a welcoming environment. This role is vital for maintaining the smooth operation of our healthcare services and enhancing patient experience.

Main responsibilities & duties of the role

Tasks may include appointment bookings, admission bookings, reception duties, check in procedures for patients, receipt of payment for bills.
Participation in preparation for clinic lists, taking patient payments and assisting with telephone enquiries.
Prepare documents and complete forms as per department procedures and business requirements.
Liaise regularly with internal and external customers.
Ensure that all incoming calls via switchboard are answered in a timely manner in line with company best practice.
Resolve customer queries, whether in person, via telephone or email in a professional manner.
Verify patients medical insurance details prior to admission.
Undertake general office duties and any other duties as may be requested by department lead

Qualifications

Minimum GCSE education or equivalent.

Experience

Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
Previous administration experience in a business/health care sector environment.
1 years relevant experience within an administrative or customer services role.

Skills

Demonstrate customer services skills and awareness
Excellent interpersonal skills
To be able to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
Flexible attitude and approach to the role
Good computer skills and confidence in using an array of computer software
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to work as a team member
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
