Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, specialising in sushi preparation, and possess a keen eye for detail and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft authentic sushi dishes in a dynamic restaurant environment, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained.
Handle food preparation tasks including slicing, rolling, and plating sushi using traditional techniques.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards throughout all stages of meal preparation.
Manage ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness and proper storage of seafood, rice, vegetables, and other supplies.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail.
Assist in developing new sushi recipes and presentation styles to enhance menu offerings.
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the sushi station in compliance with health regulations.
Serve dishes professionally, engaging with guests when appropriate to enhance their dining experience.

Experience

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role within a restaurant setting, ideally specialising in Japanese cuisine.
Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation with an emphasis on sushi artistry.
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices within a commercial kitchen environment.
Previous restaurant experience demonstrating the ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours.
Familiarity with serving customers and maintaining excellent customer service standards is advantageous. This position offers an engaging environment for culinary professionals passionate about Japanese cuisine and dedicated to delivering exceptional quality dishes.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
