Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Café Assistant/Barista to join our vibrant team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality in a welcoming environment. The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering excellent customer service, ensuring the café operates smoothly and efficiently. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in drinks preparation, customer service, and café operations within a unique setting.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
Assist customers with their orders in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment, adhering to food safety standards.
Restock supplies as needed, including ingredients, utensils, and packaging materials.
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
Support food preparation tasks such as assembling light snacks or organising ingredients for quick service during busy periods.
Manage time effectively during peak hours to ensure prompt service without compromising quality.

Qualifications

Previous barista experience or familiarity with coffee-making equipment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of food safety standards is preferred to uphold hygiene practices within the café.
Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy periods.
Excellent time management skills to ensure timely service throughout shifts.
Friendly demeanour with strong communication skills to engage positively with customers and team members.
