Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chef/Cook to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of food production. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for culinary arts, grill experience as we have a large grill menu of steaks, chicken, gammon etc... A strong background in food safety, kitchen management, and customer service is essential to excel in this position.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food production
Oversee food safety procedures, maintaining hygiene standards and compliance with health regulations
Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
Lead food presentation to ensure visual appeal and consistency
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
Train new team members in food preparation, safety protocols, and service standards
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment and work surfaces
Assist in menu planning and development to meet customer preferences and seasonal offerings

Experience

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Supervising experience in a culinary or food service context is highly desirable
Strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
Experience in restaurant operations, including serving customers and managing busy service periods
Familiarity with food production processes and kitchen equipment operation

Pay: £16.00-£17.00 per hour
