Full job description

We’re excited to be relaunching food service and are looking for an enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Chef to join our new kitchen team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside our Kitchen Manager in helping establish a fresh food offering within a busy village pub.

About the Role

Working across:

Lunch: Tuesday-Sunday (12:00pm-3:00pm)
Dinner: Tuesday-Sunday (5:00pm-8:00pm)
Breakfast: Saturday & Sunday (9:00am-11:00am)

You’ll support all aspects of food preparation and service while helping maintain high standards throughout the kitchen.

Responsibilities

Preparing ingredients and assisting with food service
Cooking dishes to specification
Maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen
Washing up and cleaning equipment
Assisting with stock rotation and deliveries
Supporting ordering and food preparation
Completing food safety checks where required
Following food hygiene and allergen procedures
Working as part of a positive, supportive team

Requirements

Previous kitchen experience preferred
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum)
Passion for producing quality food
Reliable and hardworking
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail
Flexible and willing to learn
Good communication skills

Desirable

Experience in a pub or restaurant kitchen
Knowledge of allergen legislation
Food preparation qualifications
