Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and friendly Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice in Hornchurch, which is under new ownership within the Smilehq group. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for managing appointments, handling administrative tasks, and providing excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to work in a welcoming environment where organisational skills and a warm demeanour are highly valued. The position is suitable for individuals with prior office or administrative experience who enjoy working in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

Greeting patients warmly and professionally upon arrival
Managing patient appointments efficiently using practice management software
Answering phone calls, responding to enquiries, and directing calls appropriately
Handling patient check-in and check-out procedures
Maintaining accurate patient records and updating personal information as required
Managing correspondence, including emails and postal mail
Processing payments and insurance claims accurately
Assisting with administrative tasks such as Referrals, photocopying, and data entry
Ensuring the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and organised
Supporting the dental team with various administrative duties as needed

Experience

Prior office experience is essential, preferably within a healthcare or dental environment
We use dentally software so knowledge of this is highly desirable.
Administrative experience demonstrating organisation and attention to detail is highly desirable
Dental nurse experience is also an advantage.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in using office software such as MS Office or equivalent practice management systems
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Friendly, professional demeanour with a strong focus on patient care and customer service

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,160.00 per year
