Job Title

Ice Cream Server / Gelato Server

Job Summary

The Ice Cream Server is responsible for delivering a friendly, efficient, and high-quality customer experience in an ice cream parlour environment. This role involves serving ice cream and desserts, handling customer transactions, maintaining hygiene standards, and supporting daily shop operations.

Key Responsibilities

Greet customers in a warm, professional, and welcoming manner
Serve ice cream, gelato, sorbets, and desserts accurately and attractively
Advise customers on flavours, allergens, specials, and seasonal products
Operate the till, process card payments, and manage transactions accurately
Maintain cleanliness of serving areas, equipment, counters, and seating areas
Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations at all times
Restock freezers, toppings, cones, and packaging as required
Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and preparation
Handle customer queries or complaints politely and escalate when necessary
Support the wider team during busy periods

Skills and Experience

Strong customer service and communication skills
Friendly, reliable, and professional attitude
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Basic numeracy and confidence handling payments
Attention to detail, especially with presentation and hygiene
Previous food service or retail experience desirable but not essential

Working Conditions

Standing for extended periods
Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required
Manual handling of light equipment and stock

Training

Full training will be provided, including food hygiene, allergen awareness, and product knowledge.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Temp to perm

Pay: £12.71-£12.72 per hour
