Full job description

Join Our Team as a Yard Operative at Martin Cashmore Fencing LTD!

We are a busy and growing fencing merchant supplying quality materials to both trade and retail customers. We are now looking for a reliable and hard-working Yard Operative to join our team and help keep the yard running smoothly and efficiently.

This role is ideal for someone with a practical mindset who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in delivering great service.

Key Responsibilities:

Loading and unloading fencing materials such as timber, panels, and concrete posts.
Picking and preparing customer orders for collection or delivery
Assisting customers in the yard in a polite and professional manner
Keeping the yard tidy, organised, and safe at all times
Helping with stock checks and reporting shortages or damage
Operating forklifts (if trained/licensed)
Unloading and receiving deliveries
Morticing and cutting timber products to order

What We are Looking For:

Experience in a similar yard environment (preferred)
Knowledge of fencing materials (an advantage, but not essential – training will be given)
Good level of physical fitness – this is a hands-on, active role
Positive attitude and a team player
Ability to work safely and follow instructions
Forklift licence (desirable – or willingness to train)

Our working hours are Monday - Friday 7:30am - 5:00pm

Saturday opening times are 8:00am - 12:00pm you will be required to do at least two Saturday's a month these will be paid as overtime

We do not open on bank holidays but these are paid in full

We offer a 15minute break in the morning, 30 minutes at lunch and 15minutes in the afternoon.

Each year you will get 20days paid holiday which days taken at Christmas will be deducted from this as we are not open.
