Production Operative Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Production Operative to join our manufacturing team. This role involves working across multiple areas of our production facility to manufacture high-quality components using a variety of machinery, tools, and assembly techniques. The successful candidate will be committed to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity while contributing effectively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine production requirements.
Measure, cut, assemble, and finish wooden components in accordance with specifications and quality standards.
Ensure all manufactured components are correctly aligned, levelled, secured, and completed to the required standard.
Carry out finishing operations, including sanding, trimming, and varnishing where required.
Repair or replace damaged components and identify quality issues during production.
Operate machinery and equipment safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Adhere to all company health, safety, and quality policies.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team objectives.

Machinery and Equipment Used

The successful candidate will be expected to operate a range of production equipment, including:

Hand-held power tools
Pneumatic brad and staple guns
Routers and trimmers
Spindle moulding machines
Table saws
Hot press equipment
CNC machinery

Skills and ExperienceEssential

Experience in a manufacturing, woodworking, or production environment.
Competent in the use of hand and power tools.
Bench assembly experience.
Ability to undertake manual handling and heavy lifting activities.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Good problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

Experience operating CNC machinery.
Knowledge of woodworking machinery and production processes.
Relevant vocational qualifications or certifications.
