Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Barista and Cafe Cook to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food preparation and culinary arts, with a keen eye for food safety and quality. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic environment, contributing to the delivery of delicious meals to our valued customers. The Cafe Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of hygiene and presentation are maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a range of hot drinks and food menu items according to specified recipes and standards
Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils
Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or needs to management
Serve food efficiently during busy periods, ensuring customer satisfaction
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or contamination
Support team members as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a café or restaurant setting
Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
Good communication skills to work collaboratively with team members
Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and culinary practices
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities during busy service times
Previous experience in serving customers is advantageous but not essential
Enthusiasm for creating quality dishes and providing excellent service
