Full job description

The Boathouse Café is entering an exciting new chapter, and we’re looking for an ambitious, creative, and hands-on Head Chef to lead our kitchen and take the business to the next level.

Set in a stunning lakeside location, The Boathouse Café has built a reputation for great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We are now seeking a passionate culinary leader who can elevate our food offering, develop the team, and help establish the café as one of Lincolnshire’s must-visit dining destinations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all kitchen operations and maintain exceptional food quality standards
Create and deliver seasonal menus using fresh, quality ingredients
Introduce exciting new dishes while maintaining customer favourites
Recruit, train, motivate, and develop the kitchen team
Manage stock control, ordering, food costs, and supplier relationships
Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
Drive consistency, efficiency, and profitability within the kitchen
Work closely with management to grow the café’s reputation and customer base
Support special events, catering opportunities, and new business initiatives

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience as a Head Chef or experienced Sous Chef ready to progress
Strong leadership and people-management skills
Passion for fresh food and delivering quality dishes
Good commercial awareness and kitchen management experience
Excellent organisation and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a busy, customer-focused environment
Food Hygiene qualification preferred
