Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Fibre Splicer to join our dynamic team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing fibre optic cables across a variety of environments, including building sites, offices, and schools. The icandidate must hold a valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) or ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) card, demonstrating their competence and commitment to safety standards. Duties

Precisely splice fibre optic cables using industry-standard techniques to ensure optimal performance and connectivity.
Install fibre infrastructure on construction sites, in office buildings, and educational facilities, adhering to project specifications and safety protocols.
Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to prepare cables, connectors, and enclosures efficiently.
Conduct testing and troubleshooting of fibre links to identify faults or performance issues and implement effective repairs.
Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and other trades to coordinate installation schedules and ensure seamless project execution.
Maintain detailed records of splicing activities, test results, and equipment used for quality assurance purposes.
Assist with additional tasks such as welding or mechanical adjustments when required to support overall infrastructure integrity.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Fibre Splicer with a strong understanding of fibre optic technology and installation practices.
Valid CSCS or ECS card demonstrating compliance with industry safety standards.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised fibre splicing equipment.
Mechanical knowledge with the ability to handle welding or mechanical adjustments if needed.
Electrical experience or background is highly desirable for troubleshooting complex systems.
Familiarity with working on diverse environments including building sites, offices, and schools.
Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and project specifications accurately.
