Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and assisting with food preparation and service. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for cleanliness, be proactive, and possess a passion for hospitality.

Duties

Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including washing vegetables and preparing ingredients.
Support chefs with cooking activities as required, ensuring hygiene standards are maintained.
Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to uphold health and safety regulations.
Collect and dispose of waste appropriately, ensuring the kitchen remains tidy throughout service periods.
Restock supplies and organise storage areas to facilitate efficient workflow.
Support serving staff during busy periods, including clearing tables and delivering food when necessary.
Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential.
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and kitchen hygiene standards is desirable.
Experience in hospitality or culinary roles will be considered a plus.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good organisational skills with attention to cleanliness and detail.
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary.

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
