Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Car Mechanic / Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and fitting vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background who are eager to work in a dynamic environment. The position involves hands-on work with various tools and machinery, requiring attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Duties

Diagnosing mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals
Conducting routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment
Assembling components and fitting parts accurately according to specifications
Utilising hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and modifications
Repairing or replacing faulty parts, including engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
Performing equipment repair tasks to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency
Assisting with the installation of new systems or components as required
Ensuring all work complies with safety standards and organisational procedures
Maintaining detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used
Providing excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly

Skills

Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and technical diagrams
Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems and machinery
Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools
Experience in assembly, disassembly, and fitting of vehicle parts or machinery components
Knowledge of maintenance procedures for different types of vehicles or equipment
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or installations
Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
Capable of troubleshooting complex mechanical problems quickly and accurately
Experience in equipment repair, welding, and general mechanical servicing is highly desirable
