Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cafe Cook to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meals in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety are maintained. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food and customer service to develop their skills within a welcoming setting.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold dishes according to menu specifications and quality standards
Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
Ensure all food is stored correctly and rotated appropriately to minimise waste
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure optimal results
Collaborate with team members to deliver efficient service during busy periods
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to uphold hygiene standards at all times
Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying management of shortages

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a café, restaurant or similar environment
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities during busy service hours
Previous experience in meal preparation, kitchen operations, or culinary roles is highly desirable
Serving experience is beneficial but not essential; a friendly attitude towards customers is important
