Full job description

At L’Atelier Joinery, we pride ourselves on crafting high-end, bespoke cabinetry and furniture. We combine traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques to deliver exceptional quality to our clients. From initial raw materials to the final precision install, our work reflects a dedication to excellence, creativity, and durability.

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Cabinet Maker to join the team. If you take pride in your work and have a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you.

The Role

This is a dynamic role that bridges the gap between precision workshop manufacturing and high-end on-site installation. You will be responsible for crafting bespoke pieces in our fully equipped workshop and taking those projects across the finish line by installing them at our clients' residential or commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities

Workshop Production: Cut, shape, assemble, and finish high-quality bespoke cabinetry, furniture, and joinery components from raw materials.
Technical Interpretation: Read, interpret, and work accurately from technical shop drawings, cutting lists, and detailed specifications.
Site Installation: Transport, fit, and seamlessly install completed pieces on-site, ensuring a perfect finish and maintaining a clean, professional presence in front of clients.
Material Selection: Select and prepare appropriate timber, veneers, and manufactured boards (MDF, plywood, etc.) for production.
Machinery Operation: Safely and efficiently operate standard woodworking machinery (panel saws, spindle moulders, planers, thicknessers, and hand tools).
Quality Control: Maintain an exacting eye for detail, ensuring all work meets L’Atelier Joinery’s high standards of craftsmanship before it leaves the workshop.

Skills & Experience

Required:

We're extremely flexible and open to either part-time, full-time, freelance, temp or perm, please let us know what type of work you're looking for in your application.
Proven experience as a Cabinet Maker or Bench Joiner (ideally 3+ years).
Strong competency with standard workshop machinery and hand tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills, especially when adapting pieces during on-site installation.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small team.
A valid driver’s license (essential for site travel).
Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with clients on-site.

Desirable (But Not Essential):

CNC Experience: Experience setting up, operating, or programming CNC machinery is a definite advantage, though training can be provided for the right candidate.

What We Offer

Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM schedule, Monday to Friday (no weekend grind if we can help it).

Competitive Salary: £15-25 per hour, if freelancing, 30-40k if perm, all dependant on experience.
