Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Car Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your mechanical expertise in a dynamic environment, providing top-quality service to our customers. The position involves working with various tools and equipment, adhering to safety standards, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Duties

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
Repair and replace faulty components, including engines, brakes, transmissions, and suspension systems
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to perform repairs and assembly tasks
Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs and maintenance procedures
Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid top-ups
Assist with equipment repair and maintenance to ensure workshop efficiency
Carry out heavy lifting when handling vehicle parts or components safely
Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts utilised for each vehicle
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and advising on vehicle care

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Car Mechanic or similar role with a strong mechanical knowledge base
Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and equipment repair methods
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a physically demanding environment
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence
Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive technology or mechanics are preferred but not essential
