As our workload continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Grounds Maintenance & Landscaping Operative to join our team.

The Role
This is a varied, hands-on position where you'll be involved in both grounds maintenance and landscaping projects throughout the year.
Typical duties include:
- Grass cutting and hedge maintenance
- Tree, hedge, shrub and herbaceous planting
- Turfing and grass seeding
- Weed control
- Mulching and seasonal horticultural maintenance
- Fencing, paving, edging and other hard landscaping works
- Basic groundworks and site preparation
- Operating handheld machinery and power tools
- Operating compact loaders, excavators and stump grinders (where trained)
- Carrying out daily vehicle, plant and equipment checks
- Working safely in accordance with company procedures and site-specific RAMS
- Delivering a professional service while maintaining high standards of workmanship
Our projects range from routine grounds maintenance and landscaping to commercial developments, tree planting schemes and environmental improvement projects, ensuring no two days are the same.
About You
You'll ideally have experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping or horticulture and enjoy working as part of a professional team.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Positive, motivated and willing to learn
- Able to work to a consistently high standard
- Professional and courteous when dealing with clients and members of the public
- Someone who takes pride in their work and appearance
Essential
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping or horticulture
- Good communication skills
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work safely as part of a team
Desirable
- PA1 & PA6 (weed control)
- CSCS Card
- Trailer licence (B+E)
- Plant or machinery operator tickets
- Experience operating compact loaders, excavators or stump grinders
- Basic plant identification knowledge

Working Hours
This is a full-time position with regular weekday hours (Monday to Friday – 7.30am to 4.15pm).
Due to the seasonal nature of our work, occasional early starts, overtime and weekend duties may be required during busy periods.

Successful applicants will be required to provide satisfactory employment references. As we regularly work on schools and other sensitive sites, a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check may also be required depending on the nature of the work.
