Overview

The Apple Tree Public House are seeking a dynamic and skilled Second Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. This pivotal role involves supporting the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional food quality, and maintaining a lively, efficient kitchen environment. As a Second Chef, you will play a vital part in supervising food production, managing team members, and upholding the highest standards of food safety and hospitality. Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in supervising daily kitchen activities, ensuring smooth operations and timely food preparation.
Lead food production efforts, maintaining consistency, presentation, and quality across all dishes served.
Manage and motivate kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and a positive work environment through effective leadership.
Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion control, and hygiene standards.
Support the training of new team members in cooking techniques, safety procedures, and service standards.
Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation protocols to guarantee a safe dining environment.
Contribute to menu planning and innovation by collaborating with the culinary team to introduce fresh ideas.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a kitchen setting with strong culinary skills; previous restaurant experience preferred.
Supervising experience or team management skills that demonstrate leadership capabilities.
Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment operation.
Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices essential for maintaining hygiene excellence.
