Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Fish and Chip Shop Cook / Trainee Supervisor to join our team. This role involves preparing and cooking high-quality fish and chips, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and assisting in supervising daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent organisational skills, and a keen interest in developing their culinary and supervisory abilities within a busy retail environment.

Duties

Prepare and cook fish, chips, and other menu items according to company recipes and standards
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area
Assist in supervising staff during shifts, providing guidance on food preparation and service procedures
Serve customers efficiently and courteously at the counter or via takeaway orders
Monitor stock levels and assist with stock rotation and ordering as required
Support the training of new staff members in food preparation, safety protocols, and customer service
Uphold high standards of hygiene and health & safety throughout the shop

Requirements

Experience in food preparation, cooking, or working within a kitchen environment is highly desirable
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
Previous experience in a restaurant or takeaway setting is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy periods
Excellent communication skills and a friendly manner when serving customers
Willingness to learn new skills and take on supervisory responsibilities as part of career development
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

Pay: From £13.00 per hour
