About us

MJS is a family-owned construction and property company based in Peterborough. Unlike most developers, we don't just build and sell — we build and keep. Our rental portfolio spans apartment blocks, standard lets, holiday lets in Norfolk, and our own offices at MJS House, and we're growing it significantly over the next six years.

That means this isn't an admin job with no ceiling — it's a chance to grow with a portfolio that's expanding year on year.

The role

We're looking for an organised, detail-focused Property Administrator to support our property management team. You'll work closely with our Property Manager, handling the administration behind the scenes so issues move quickly and nothing falls through the cracks — logging everything that comes in, keeping records straight, and making sure the paperwork and process side of property management runs like clockwork.

This is an administrative support role, not a management role — you won't be making the repair or compliance decisions yourself, but you'll be the one keeping the wheels turning behind them.

Day to day, you'll:

Log all reported maintenance issues in our CRM and keep records updated as they progress
Chase contractors and agents for quotes, updates, and job completion, and flag delays to the Property Manager
Process and track invoices and costs against jobs, ready for the Property Manager to review
Prepare and file paperwork for move-out property checks, end-of-tenancy charges, and repairs, working with our appointed managing agents
Maintain compliance records and diarise upcoming safety checks and Fire Safety Order deadlines for the Property Manager to action
Support the block management admin for our apartment buildings — scheduling, filing, and correspondence
Handle day-to-day written and phone communication with clients, contractors, and colleagues, keeping everyone informed

What you'll bring

Essential:

At least 1–2 years' experience in an administrative role, ideally in property, lettings, or a similarly process-heavy environment
Strong organisational skills — you can track a large number of open items without dropping any
Clear, confident communicator, in writing and on the phone
Comfortable with CRM/database systems and keeping accurate records
A full, valid driving licence and your own car (occasional property visits required)

Nice to have:

Experience with property management CRM
Previous exposure to lettings, block management, or property administration specifically

What we offer

£28,000–£30,000 depending on experience
