Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grill Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience working in busy restaurant environments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents, contribute to a vibrant dining atmosphere, and deliver exceptional grilled dishes to our valued guests. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of grilled items, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, and ensuring customer satisfaction through quality meal presentation.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of grilled dishes according to recipes and quality standards
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Assist in meal preparation, including marinating, seasoning, and assembling ingredients
Maintain cleanliness of the grill station and surrounding work areas throughout shifts
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure optimal results
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver excellent service and timely meal delivery
Manage stock levels of ingredients, ensuring freshness and proper storage procedures
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
Contribute to menu development by suggesting new grilled dishes or improvements

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant or catering environment
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Previous kitchen experience, preferably in a busy setting specialising in grilled cuisine
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude
Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are desirable but not essential
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required
