Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and proactive General Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting various operational tasks within our facility, ensuring smooth daily operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the organisation. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to develop their skills in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

Assisting with the preparation and organisation of materials and equipment needed for daily operations.
Assisting in the processing and sorting of metals ready for loading in containers or lorries.
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of work areas to ensure health and safety standards are met.
Operating basic machinery or tools following safety protocols (training provided).
Supporting team members with logistical tasks such as loading and unloading goods.
Reporting any issues or hazards to supervisors promptly to prevent accidents or delays.
Following all health and safety guidelines diligently during all activities.

Skills

Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
Basic understanding of health and safety procedures in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different operational roles.
Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Experience in the use of mobile plant would be advantageous but not necessary as full training will be given.

Pay: From £15.00 per hour
