Overview

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing a wide range of vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with various tools and equipment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and customer service are paramount. The Vehicle Mechanic will play a vital part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our fleet.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics on vehicles to identify faults and issues
Perform repairs and maintenance tasks including engine repairs, brake replacements, and tyre servicing
Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to facilitate repairs
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair work
Carry out welding tasks as required for structural repairs or component replacements
Maintain detailed records of all work carried out on each vehicle
Assist with the assembly of new vehicles or parts as needed
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients

Requirements

Proven experience as a Vehicle Mechanic or similar role with a solid understanding of mechanical systems
Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, equipment repair, and assembly processes
Competence in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialised machinery
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when handling vehicle parts or components
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Good organisational skills for managing multiple tasks effectively
Ability to deliver high-quality customer service with professionalism and courtesy
Relevant qualifications or certifications in vehicle maintenance or mechanical engineering are desirable but not essential
